About Us

Iris México is my artistic name, and also the name of several fiction characters who I have invented and who take the same name.
So far they are four girls, each of them has a different personality and power and is identified with a chromatic range. The main one
is Iris Mexico in fuchsia "sugar bloom", also there’s one dark esquizofrenic, another bisexual drag queen who uses all the rainbow
colors, and a mystic woman that adores the aqua color and loves all the range of blue and green ones. As a person I know that
there is a difference between the reality (we could say the author) and the fiction (my personages), although honestly sometimes
the fiction has its own reality... The reality is a dancing kitty.

Iris México es mi nombre artístico, y también el nombre de varios personajes de ficción que he inventado y que llevan el mismo
nombre. Por ahora son cuatro chicas, cada una de ellas tiene una personalidad y un poder diferente y se identifica con una gama
cromática. La principal es Iris México en fucsia “sugar bloom” , también hay una dark esquizofrenica, otra bisexual drag queen que
utiliza todos los colores del arcoiris, y una sanadora que adora el color acqua y recurre a toda la gama de verdes y azules. Como
persona sé que hay una diferencia entre la realidad (digamos la autora) y la ficción (mis personajes), aunque honestamente a
veces la ficción cobra su propia realidad... La realidad es una gata bailarina.

I like to invent and reinvent me. I admire Fernando Pessoa with his many identities, and I believe that there exist many reasons to
say sometimes, like Almodóvar, that "the reality would have to be prohibited". I am fan of comic, fiction, “Alice in Wonderland”, of
histories and rituals of signs and myths. In some performances I represent and I am one of my personages and I enjoy it, I do not
believe to be the personage in the daily life because I like to have a reality in which; obvious! I do not have superpowers, in which I
go to the mall, I cook and take care of the garden and that is important although it does not have the "punch" of a history and its
conflict or the art technique. I am artist because I thank for the possibility of being alive and to share experiences, yearnings,
passions, histories with the others. I look for the balance between the multiple signs, histories, professions and passions that
conform to me, perhaps that is one of the post and hypermodern inheritances, beyond the globalization, the contemporary
multiplicity in the individuals.

Me gusta inventarme y reinventarme. Admiro a Fernando Pessoa con sus múltiples “yos”, y creo que existen muchas razones para
decir en ocasiones, como Almodóvar, que “la realidad debería de estar prohibida”. Soy fan del comic, de la ficción, de Alicia en el
País de las Maravillas, de historias y rituales de signos y mitos. En algunos performances represento y soy uno de mis personajes
y lo disfruto, no creo ser el personaje en la vida cotidiana porque me gusta tener una realidad en la que ¡obvio! no tengo
superpoderes, en la que voy al super, cocino y cuido el jardín y eso es importante aunque no tenga el “punch” de una historia y su
conflicto o de la técnica del arte. Soy artista porque agradezco la posibilidad de estar viva y compartir experiencias, anhelos,
pasiones, historias con los demás. Busco el equilibro entre los múltiples signos, historias, profesiones y pulsiones que me
conforman, tal vez esa es una de las herencias post e hipermodernas, más allá de la globalización, la multiplicidad
contemporánea en los individuos.
